Healthy hot chocolate (dairy-free!)
Guys it has been COLD in Winnipeg! Really no surprises here (it is February after all), but we think we just found our favorite new way to warm up. Hint: it involves chocolate! It gets better though - it's healthy!
This is a super simple, healthy hot chocolate recipe that happens to be dairy-free and is also a really tasty way to get your bone broth in. It's also a really great option if you want to enjoy the health benefits of bone broth but haven't quite warmed up to the idea of sipping on straight broth (it's ok - we can still be friends), or if you're trying to sneak some extra nutrition into picky eaters' diets.
The cocoa in this recipe really cuts the broth flavor making it indistinguishable and leaving you with a creamy and decadent treat that you can really feel good about drinking. Recipe below!
Healthy hot chocolate (dairy-free)
-1 cup bone broth
-2 tbsp coconut oil
-1 tbsp cocoa powder
-honey to taste
-cinnamon to taste (optional)
1. Bring bone broth to a full boil. Add coconut oil to melt.
2. Remove broth and oil from heat and place in blender with other ingredients.
3. Blend on high until frothy (approx. 1 minute)
4. Serve and enjoy!
